The theme of family runs deep in our history.

Jessica Hallam - a Stella Mann collage graduate - has had extensive performance experience across various mediums. Jess’s mom, Lynn Hallam, an original member of the Betty Fox Stage School, boasts a rich Birmingham performing history, including the Hippodrome. With an IDTA Associate in Modern Jazz, she’s a seasoned Dance Instructor.

 

Our Founder

Jessica Hallam

Jessica trained at the Stella Mann College of Performing Arts gaining a level 6 National Diploma in Musical Theatre.

Whilst at Stella Mann she continued to study with Colin Lang and David Lloyd Price under ‘Pheonix Arts’ where her training consisted of all disciplines of dance, vocal coaching, and recording arts.

Jessica has danced with the English Youth Ballet and done many types of work including stage productions, pantomimes, television productions, music videos, and various corporate events.

She has an IDTA Associate in both Ballet and Modern Jazz and is also trained in ISTD and RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabuses but amongst all she has a fantastic approach to teaching Dance.

 

Assistant Teacher

Lynn Hallam

Lynn has been working in the dance industry for several years and was once one of the original members of the Betty Fox Stage School which was one of the most well-known schools in Birmingham.

Lynn has performed in multiple pantomimes at the Birmingham Hippodrome for many years and starred in Come Dancing, she was also in a semi-professional group called Energy, just to name a few.

Lynn has an IDTA Associate in Modern Jazz and is a highly skillful teacher of Acro.

Angelica Ward

Angelica has trained at BDS since the doors opened in January 2016.

She gained a place at BOA gaining an extended level 3 diploma in performing arts. This then led Angelica to gain places at both ‘Addict’ and ‘Rare’ performing arts. Angelica completed her course at Rare Liverpool gaining a higher National Certificate in Dance.

Angelica now assists at BDS whilst still pursuing dance and performing work in other areas.
